LANGUAGE AND VISUAL interests meet in the business of web design. My BA is in writing and my post-bac education has been in fine art and design. I have worked as a copy editor and proofreader and have had some of my writing published.

PRINT EXPERIENCE: City of Carlsbad. 2005. Volunteer. Composed a five fold hand-out for use in all city offices.

Graphic Designer/Project Design. 2001-2002. Contract assignments. Designed marketing collateral: Involved creating image books, proposals, Powerpoint demonstrations, cutsheets, letterhead, invitations, brochures and forms. Extensive use of QuarkXPress, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator was required. Considerable design work involved, as well as scanning and manipulation of images. Proofreading and copy editing skills utilized. Created PDFs. Strict adherence to deadlines required. Used both spot color and 4-color process. Set-up film templates for output to Scitex Dolev 200 Imagesetter and Agfa AccuSet 1500 plus. Created matchprints from film. Jobs required knowledge of setting up digital files (4-up, etc.) for successful output, more specifically: registration, crop marks, bleeds, gutters, color bars and positioning on film.
