When I was in college I took a series of fine arts classes and eventually went to the Rocky Mountain School of Art. I have always painted/drawn for my own pleasure and occasionally for profit. I use mixed media--oil pastels and china markers, for the most part.

Illustrations:

In my work as a freelancer, I have never resorted to using clip art or other 'outsourced' images. I prefer to create the image myself. (Occasionally I will photograph an object or person and rework the photo to create a more artful look. However, I am always willing to use the materials supplied by my client--with the proper permissions.)

The images shown here are all hand/computer drawn. The line between an illlustration and a painting is not always distinct. I consider my more 'personal' work to be paintings and my work with a broader appeal to be illustration.

A few of the images shown to the left are from a dream diary I created, InBetween. I am writing the text to accompany these images which I hope to publish in the future. It begins:
